DIGITAL CARDS AND WALLETS
When you add your American Airlines Federal Credit Union card to your digital wallet, you no longer need to pull your card out to pay every time. With a tap of your phone, you can access your account at many merchants worldwide. Making a purchase online? Just input your card information once, and shop away. Digital credit card information is available once the card has been opened.
Sometimes life gets a little messy and your card is either missing, lost or stolen. If you need a new credit card and card number, just log into online banking and select “Manage My Cards.” With only a few clicks, you’ll be able to add your new information into your digital wallet and start spending.
Please note: At this time, you must have your plastic card in hand before you can add a debit card to your wallet. Instant access to digital debit card information will be coming in 2025.
Viewing Card Information
Your digital card details are stored securely within online banking. When it’s time to pay, you can view your card details by following these steps. Please note: The Credit Union will never call you and ask for personal identifying information such as card numbers and personal identification numbers.
- Log into online banking.
- Select “Manage My Cards” from the main menu.
- Click on your card or select “View Card Info."
- Complete the authentication process to view your card details.
- When your plastic card arrives, activate it.
- Your plastic card will have a different expiration date than your initial digital card. Upon activation of your plastic card, most digital wallets will automatically update the expiration date, but be sure to confirm or make manual changes as needed.
Adding a Card to Digital Wallets
You can add your digital cards directly to Apple Pay or Google Pay from online banking. Most digital wallets will update when you activate your plastic card.
- Log into online banking.
- Select “Manage My Cards” from the main menu.
- Click on your card image or select “View Card Info.”
- Scroll down and select the “Add to wallet” option.
- When you see the landing page, click “Open” and follow the directions. Please note: You’ll be asked to accept your provider’s Terms and Conditions and validate your identify.
- You’ll receive a confirmation screen as well as an email after you have successfully completed the process.
Using a Digital Card Online
Whether or not you choose to use a digital wallet, you can still use your digital card at your favorite online retailers. Just follow the same steps as the “Viewing Card Information” section and make note of your card information when you select “View Card Info.”
Plastic Cards
After you’ve been approved for a credit card or ordered a new or replacement card, your plastic credit card will arrive in 7-10 days. You’ll need to activate the plastic credit card via online banking in the “Manage My Cards” section or by calling the phone number on the sticker on the front. Even if you don’t plan on using your plastic card, you must activate it in order to use a digital card. Your plastic card will have different card information from your initial digital card.
If you don’t activate the plastic card, your digital card will no longer work after 60 days.
Replacing Your Card
If you have temporarily or permanently misplaced your card, we have a variety of self-serve options to ensure that you have access to your cards when you need them. Log into online banking and select “Manage My Cards” to get started.
Report a card lost or stolen
When you choose this option, your existing card will no longer work, even if you locate it at a later date. You will receive a new card number. Your new digital credit card will be available immediately and your plastic card will arrive in 7-10 days.
Replace a damaged card
Choose this option when you know where your plastic card is but it is damaged and unusable. You will not receive a new card number and your digital card will continue to work. You will receive a replacement plastic card in 7-10 days.
Temporarily turn your card on or off
Choose this option when you want to keep your existing card number and plastic cards, but don’t want to use them for a period of time. This is the best option when you know where your card is, such as if you leave it at a restaurant or at a friend’s house.

Digital Cards and Wallets - Frequently Asked Questions
Your digital credit card information should be available once the card has been opened. Debit card numbers are not available for instant digital cards at this time.
Whether or not you activate the digital credit card, the new number from your plastic card will automatically replace the digital card in “Manage My Cards.” You can add it to a wallet at any time.
Your instant digital credit card number will expire in 60 days.
For safety and security reasons a plastic card has different information on it and can’t be used until it’s activated by the card holder. Once activated, the new information will overwrite the temporary digital credit card information.
No, digital credit cards are only available through online banking. If you haven’t signed up for online banking, do so here. Your plastic card will arrive in 7-10 days.
Credit and debit cards are run through different platforms. Instant digital debit cards will be available in 2025.
